AMA-X4 Ahava Azieru

The AMA-X4 Ahava Azieru was a prototype mobile armor developed by Neo Zeon during the Neo Zeon Wars but left incomplete within Axis.

The “AMA” designation indicated it was an Axis mobile armor, with “X4” denoting its experimental status and development sequence.

History

The AMA-X4 Ahava Azieru was developed at the Maharaja Karn Memorial Institute during and after the First Neo Zeon War but remained incomplete within Axis when the conflict ended. The mobile armor served as a testbed for Newtype mental sensitive technology which was the predecessor of the psychoframe.

In UC 0096, the Earth Federation Forces special unit Mastema was sent to investigate Axis and secure psychoframe research data following the Laplace Incident. When Mastema came under attack from the private group Birnam, former Zeon engineer Arlette Almage hastily launched in the Ahava Azieru to fight Quentin Fermo’s RX-78KU-01 Kurwenal.

Although she was able to inflict some damage, the Ahava Azieru was outmatched and eventually immobilised. A Newtype reaction initiated by Arlette’s psychoframe sample piece ended the battle.

Design

The Ahava Azieru featured a distinctive design with a panoramic monitor and linear seat cockpit located within the main body. The mobile armor was equipped with a defensive I-field generator, as well as multiple beam cannons, beam sabers and many remote use funnels.

The mobile armor represented Neo Zeon’s continued research into advanced mobile armor design and Newtype technologies during the late Universal Century period.

Armaments

The Ahava Azieru’s standard weapons were multiple beam cannons for ranged attacks, and beam sabers for close combat.

Beam cannon

The mobile armor mounted three beam cannons on its main body, providing significant firepower against enemy mobile suits and vessels.

Beam saber

Two beam sabers were mounted on the main body, allowing for close-quarters combat when necessary.

Funnel

A unique weapon on the Ahava Azieru was the tail funnel, which consisted of 10 funnels attached to each other end-to-end on the lower hull of the mobile armor’s main body, detaching from each other when in active use. This configuration allowed for coordinated attacks whilst maintaining the option for independent funnel deployment.

Variants

No known variants of the AMA-X4 Ahava Azieru exist, as it remained a prototype throughout its brief operational period.

Behind the scenes

The AMA-X4 Ahava Azieru was designed for Mobile Suit Gundam Twilight AXIS, with both anime and novel versions featuring slight differences in design and capabilities. The mobile armor’s name “Ahava Azieru” derives from Hebrew, with “Ahava” meaning “love”.
