Akihiko Hiyama

Akihiko Hiyama (アキヒコ・ヒヤマ, Akihiko Hiyama) was a Delaz Fleet mobile suit pilot during Operation Stardust. As member of the Zeon remnant forces, Hiyama represented the pilots who remained committed to Zeon’s cause four years after the One Year War, participating in the audacious attempt to strike back at the Earth Federation.

Service with Delaz Fleet

Akihiko Hiyama served as mobile suit pilot within the Delaz Fleet, operating Zeon mobile suits during operations against Federation forces in UC 0083. As member of the remnant fleet led by Aiguille Delaz, Hiyama participated in the carefully planned Operation Stardust, supporting Anavel Gato’s mission to disrupt Federation power.

The Delaz Fleet consisted primarily of One Year War veterans who refused to accept Zeon’s defeat. Operating with limited resources and facing the Federation’s rebuilt military forces, these pilots maintained their skills and dedication through four years of hiding, preparing for their opportunity to strike. Hiyama’s service demonstrated the commitment of Zeon remnants who believed their cause remained worth fighting for despite the war’s conclusion.

Operation Stardust

During Operation Stardust, Hiyama participated in mobile suit operations supporting the Delaz Fleet’s plan. The operation required coordination amongst veteran pilots facing Federation forces that included new mobile suit designs and fresh pilots. Hiyama’s combat experience from the One Year War proved valuable, though the Delaz Fleet ultimately faced superior numbers and resources.

Death

Akihiko Hiyama died during Operation Stardust, killed in combat against Federation forces. His death represented the cost the Delaz Fleet paid in their attempt to continue Zeon’s struggle.
