Yellow Jacket

The Yellow Jacket (イエロージャケット, Ierō Jaketto) was an elite unit of BESPA in Mobile Suit Victory Gundam. Its name came from the distinctive yellow colour of its pilots’ suits. The Yellow Jacket led BESPA’s Earth invasion operations in UC 0153 and included squadrons assigned to experimental and ground testing of mobile suits such as the ZMT-S12S Shokew, which was tested on Earth under gravity by pilots including Chronicle Asher. Units such as the Rig Shokew were also operated by Yellow Jacket personnel.

Role

The Yellow Jacket was composed of multiple squadrons and represented BESPA’s leading force for the Zanscare Empire’s invasion of Earth. It initially overran weakened Earth Federation positions (including the Lagein airfield in Eastern Europe) before facing sustained resistance from the League Militaire. The unit was eventually reinforced by other BESPA formations and saw its forward bases disarmed or disbanded as the Zanscare War progressed.
