TV Space Boat
Space broadcast vehicle used by civilian news networks.
The TV Space Boat was a civilian space broadcast vehicle used by news networks during the Universal Century. It was primarily used for capturing and broadcasting footage of events in space.
History
Civilian news networks operated TV Space Boats to provide live coverage of events in space. The vessels saw frequent use around Side 6 due to the colony cluster’s neutral status during the One Year War.
In December UC 0079, a TV Space Boat captured and broadcast live footage of the battle between the Earth Federation Forces assault carrier White Base and Principality of Zeon forces led by Admiral Conscon.
Design
The TV Space Boat was designed specifically for broadcasting operations in space. It featured four external fuel tanks that powered its dual thruster propulsion system, providing the manoeuvrability needed to capture footage effectively.
The vessel was equipped with an extensive array of broadcasting equipment, including video cameras mounted externally and sophisticated communications systems for live transmission. Two antenna arrays and a telescopic double repeater enabled real-time broadcasting of captured footage back to the colonies.
