Raffia (Texhnolyze)
Raffia in the Texhnolyze franchise is the substance derived from corpses through processing that enables texhnolyzation—the integration of prosthetic limbs with human nervous systems. Its scarcity and morbid origin create economic and ethical tensions; Lux survives by mining raffia, and dependence on it literalises the death that underpins technological advancement. The city’s inhabitants have become dependent on augmentation to survive, yet each enhancement strips away another piece of their humanity.
