N.O. channels are the dimensional portals in the FLCL franchise through which giant robots typically emerge, often from the heads of adolescent protagonists. They represent the moment when adolescent minds begin to question norms and develop independent consciousness, accompanied by the chaotic emergence of adult desires and responsibilities. Medical Mechanica and opposing forces use them; Haruko Haruhara and Atomsk are key figures in the conflict.
