Kataphrakts are the humanoid mecha of the Aldnoah.Zero franchise. Unlike traditional mecha, Martian Kataphrakts are powered by Aldnoah technology, giving them unique abilities that Earth forces must overcome through tactics rather than raw firepower.
Terran Kataphrakts are conventional military mecha deployed by the United Earth Federation. Martian Kataphrakts, operated by the Vers Empire and its Orbital Knights, each possess distinct Aldnoah Drive abilities—from impenetrable shields to gravity manipulation—making every encounter a tactical puzzle.
