Hiro

Hiro (ヒロ), designated Code:016, is the male protagonist of Darling in the FranXX. Once a celebrated prodigy among the children of Squad 13, he fell from grace after losing the ability to synchronise with a FRANXX partner—until he meets Zero Two, the notorious “Partner Killer”.

Hiro becomes Zero Two’s stamen and the pilot of the FRANXX Strelizia, the only partner able to ride with her repeatedly without dying. Their bond rekindles memories of a childhood encounter that shaped both their lives and set the stage for their shared determination to fight for a future beyond the control of APE.
