GNMA-Y0001 Empruss

The GNMA-Y0001 Empruss (エンプラス, Enpurasu) was a prototype GN Tau Drive–powered mobile armor developed for the Innovators in the Anno Domini timeline of Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Designed as a testbed for the later GNMA-0001V Regnant, it combined heavy GN particle weaponry with powerful defensive systems and unconventional melee weapons.

The Empruss mounted a large GN Cannon in its forward section, backed by multiple GN Beam Cannons and GN Vulcans for saturation fire. Its most distinctive features were its claw-mounted Egner Whips, which generated tendril-like beams capable of penetrating even GN Fields and delivering disabling shocks directly to enemy mobile suits and their pilots. A built-in GN Field generator and numerous GN verniers gave the mobile armor both strong defences and surprising agility for its size.

In AD 2312 the Empruss was operated by Innovade pilot Devine Nova during engagements with Celestial Being. Though it was ultimately destroyed in battle, combat data gathered from the Empruss informed the development of the mass-produced Regnant, demonstrating the Innovators’ shift toward large, heavily armed mobile armors as command units.
