GN-004 Gundam Nadleeh

The GN-004 Gundam Nadleeh was the inner mobile suit concealed beneath the heavy armour of the GN-005 Gundam Virtue, developed by Celestial Being for Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Piloted by Tieria Erde, the Nadleeh could be revealed when the Virtue shed its outer shell, providing a lighter, more mobile form. Its primary tactical feature was the Trial System, a failsafe designed by Aeolia Schenberg that allowed the pilot to take control of or disable any mobile suit connected to the quantum computer VEDA, used in the event of betrayal by other Gundam units.

History

Design and role

The Nadleeh was based on the second-generation GNY-004 Gundam Plutone and served as the core frame of the Virtue. Distinctive red cables resembling hair transferred GN particles to the Virtue’s outer armour. The transformation from Virtue to Nadleeh was kept secret and used only when Tieria needed greater mobility or when activating the Trial System against VEDA-linked opponents.

Trial System

The Trial System was a safeguard built into the Nadleeh by Celestial Being’s founder, Aeolia Schenberg. When activated, it allowed the Nadleeh’s pilot to override or shut down any mobile suit that relied on VEDA, effectively neutralising rogue or captured Celestial Being technology. This made the Nadleeh a critical asset for maintaining control over Gundam-type units.

Combat and damage

The Nadleeh was deployed during the first season when Tieria revealed the Virtue’s transformation. In AD 2308 it was heavily damaged in combat with United Nations forces, though its GN Drive was recovered and used in the development of later units. The Virtue’s successor, the GN-008 Seravee Gundam, continued the concept of a heavily armoured outer form with a lighter inner unit.

Design

The Nadleeh had a slimmer profile than the Virtue, with E-Carbon armour and optical camouflage plus communications jamming capabilities. It was armed with two GN Beam Sabers (stored on the hips), a GN Beam Rifle, and a GN Shield; it could also use the Virtue’s GN Cannons as handheld weapons when the outer armour was shed.
