The Galactic Alliance of Humankind is humanity’s space-based civilisation in Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. It fights a perpetual war against the Hideauze, using Machine Calibers and strict military doctrine. Ledo and Chamber are Alliance soldiers before being stranded on ocean Earth. The Alliance’s relationship to the Hideauze and to Earth is central to the series’ themes.
