FA-100S Full Armor Hyaku-Shiki Kai
Prototype heavy armor assault mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics.
The FA-100S Full Armor Hyaku-Shiki Kai was a prototype heavy armor assault mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG).
The “FA” in the type code indicated that it was a full armor version of the MSR-00100S Hyaku Shiki Kai.
History
The Anti-Earth Union Group commissioned Anaheim Electronics to develop new mobile suits during the Gryps Conflict. The FA-100S Full Armor Hyaku-Shiki Kai was developed from the MSR-00100S Hyaku-Shiki Kai by adding heavy armor and increased firepower.
Cliff Fleming piloted the Full Armor Hyaku-Shiki Kai against an MRX-011 Mass Production Type Psycho Gundam piloted by Enlight near the lunar industrial city Epsilon on 20 November UC 0087. The mobile suit was severely damaged in the battle, leading to the end of the Hyaku-Shiki development project.
The Full Armor Hyaku-Shiki Kai resurfaced in UC 0096, piloted by Fresberg Squadron member Martin Murtaugh. It destroyed a MA-05 Bigro belonging to Zeon Remnants and participated in the final battle against the NITRO Squadron.
Design
The Full Armor Hyaku-Shiki Kai featured enhanced armor protection and greater firepower compared to the base Hyaku-Shiki Kai, though this came at the cost of reduced mobility. It used a distinctive gold anti-beam coating that provided slightly better beam protection than standard anti-beam coatings.
The mobile suit was constructed using Gundarium γ alloy armor. Its propulsion came from rocket thrusters with a total output of 113,000 kg, significantly more than the Hyaku-Shiki Kai’s 78,500 kg. However, this increased thrust could not fully compensate for the added weight of the armor and weapons.
The cockpit used a panoramic monitor system with linear seat, housed in the torso. It featured an advanced sensor suite with a detection range of 12,500 meters.
Armaments
The Full Armor Hyaku-Shiki Kai’s standard weapons included vulcan guns and beam sabers for close combat, with various ranged weapons including missile pods and a mega particle cannon.
60 mm vulcan guns
A pair of fire-linked 60 mm vulcan guns were mounted in the head. These rapid-fire weapons were effective against lightly armored targets and as a defense against missiles.
Beam sabers
The mobile suit carried two beam sabers stored in recharge racks in the rear waist armor. These beam weapons used Minovsky particles contained by an I-field to create a cutting blade that could slice through most armor materials.
Missile pods
Four missile pods were mounted on the mobile suit—two on the waist and two on the legs. These provided additional ranged attack capability.
Mega particle cannon
A mega particle cannon was mounted in the chest, drawing power directly from the mobile suit’s reactor.
Pulse laser guns
Two pulse laser guns mounted on the backpack provided additional ranged firepower.
Beam rifle
The standard beam rifle served as the Full Armor Hyaku-Shiki Kai’s primary ranged weapon.
Explosive bolt
The explosive bolt was an optional weapon that could be detonated on impact or timer, useful for area denial tactics.
Long mega buster
The long mega buster was an optional heavy beam weapon based on the Mega Bazooka Launcher used by the original Hyaku-Shiki. It provided devastating long-range firepower.

Behind the scenes
Okawara Kunio was the original mechanical designer.
The explosive bolts’ exact nature remained unclear for many years. While later sources confirmed them as grenade-like weapons, some games like Super Robot Wars depicted them as electrical weapons, likely due to confusion between the Japanese words “bolt” and “volt”.
