Ernst Zimmerman

Ernst Zimmerman (エルンスト・ツィマーマン) is the interim president of the Federal Republic of Giad in 86 -Eighty-Six-, a former revolutionary who helped overthrow the Giadian Empire. As head of state and commander-in-chief, he offers asylum and citizenship to surviving Eighty-Six soldiers after their escape from the Republic of San Magnolia.

Behind his easygoing, gentlemanly demeanour lies a passionate idealist often likened to a “revolutionary fire dragon”. Ernst takes in Frederica Rosenfort as his adopted daughter and treats Shinei Nouzen and his comrades as children he is determined to protect, even as he supports their decision to keep fighting the Legion.
