Battling
Battling is the underground gladiatorial combat in the Armored Trooper VOTOMS franchise in which former soldiers pilot salvaged Armored Troopers for entertainment. It fills the power vacuum after the century-long war between Gilgamesh and Balarant ends, representing the series’ theme of violence as spectacle and the commodification of conflict. Uoodo City is a key Battling venue; Big Battle (1986) continues the story with underground mech fighting.
