The Zone of Absolute Fortune is what Emperor Dornkirk seeks in The Vision of Escaflowne—a state or realm without conflict or uncertainty, to be achieved via the Fate Alteration Engine. The series argues that such control of destiny is dangerous and that human will and emotional truth must be able to alter fate instead.
