RG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0

RG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver. 2.0 is Bandai’s second Real Grade take on the original Gundam, and the kit that shows how far RG engineering has come since the line launched with the original RG RX-78-2 in 2010.

Design and features

Ver. 2.0 rebuilds the E.F.S.F. prototype from the ground up around anime-accurate proportions and motion. The Core Block System is fully realised: a transforming Core Fighter docks into the torso, just as the Federation’s RX-series escape system intended. Bandai’s stated goal was the Gundam as it moves on film — a close-combat machine with human-like agility rather than a stiff display piece — and the redesigned frame delivers deep knee bends, chest articulation, and stable footing for action poses.

The armament covers the classics: BLASH-developed beam rifle and hyper bazooka, beam sabres, and shield. Panel detail is finer and less busy than the 2010 kit, reading closer to the anime while keeping RG’s signature precision.
