NZ-666 Kshatriya Repaired
Field repair Newtype-use mobile suit developed from the Kshatriya Besserung.
The NZ-666 Kshatriya Repaired was a field repair Newtype-use mobile suit developed from the NZ-666 Kshatriya Besserung for the final battle of the Laplace Incident.
The “Repaired” designation indicated that this was the final restoration attempt of the heavily damaged original NZ-666 Kshatriya, incorporating both Federation and Neo Zeon technology and equipment.
History
After the confrontation on the SCVA-76 Nahel Argama, further improvised repairs under the guidance of the Garencieres’s crew were made to the NZ-666 Kshatriya Besserung to make the mobile suit combat ready for the final push towards Laplace’s Box.
The lack of proper repair facilities, along with the use of Federation equipment and parts in the restoration, ended up creating a one-of-a-kind—but nonetheless highly effective—machine. The damaged head unit and the missing armour around the cockpit area were repaired using parts derived from mobile suit spare parts carried on board the Nahel Argama.
Out of the four of the shoulder binders, only two were repaired, while the two that were lost were replaced with a pair of large propellant boosters. This asymmetrical configuration gave the Kshatriya Repaired a unique appearance that clearly distinguished it from its predecessors.
During the final battle of the Laplace Incident of UC 0096, the Kshatriya Repaired was destroyed by the rage-fuelled Riddhe Marcenas and his RX-0[N] Gundam Unicorn 02 Banshee Norn. Marida Cruz was killed in this final engagement, marking the end of both the mobile suit and its pilot.
Design
The NZ-666 Kshatriya Repaired represented a remarkable feat of battlefield engineering and improvisation. The mobile suit was essentially a hybrid creation that combined the original Kshatriya’s frame with Federation equipment and makeshift repairs performed under combat conditions.
The damaged head unit and the missing armour around the cockpit area were repaired using parts derived from mobile suit spare parts carried on board the Nahel Argama. This patchwork approach to repairs resulted in a mobile suit that, while functional, bore little resemblance to the original Kshatriya’s pristine appearance.
The most significant modification was the replacement of two missing binders with a pair of assault boosters mounted on the backpack. These boosters not only provided additional thrust but also changed the mobile suit’s balance and flight characteristics compared to the original design.
The mobile suit retained its psychoframe cockpit, allowing Marida Cruz to maintain full control over the unit’s Newtype-responsive systems. The panoramic monitor and linear seat configuration remained unchanged from the original design.
Armaments
The Kshatriya Repaired featured an eclectic mix of original weapons, salvaged equipment, and newly installed systems that reflected its improvised nature.
Mega particle cannons
Out of the original Kshatriya’s twelve mega particle cannons, the Kshatriya Repaired retained only six of them: four mounted on the chest and two on each of the remaining binders. Despite this reduction in firepower, these weapons remained the mobile suit’s primary offensive capability.
Machine cannons
Weapons that fired live ammunition, they were mounted in the chest between the mega particle cannons. These rapid-firing projectile weapons provided close-range defensive capability and were primarily used for restricting enemy movements.
Beam sabers
The Kshatriya Repaired was armed with a total of three beam sabers for melee combat. One was stored in the right forearm for quick responses to close combat threats and could be used as a beam gun when not in use. The other two were small beam sabers mounted in the sub-arms in the Kshatriya Repaired’s binders, allowing it to catch unsuspecting foes off-guard.
The beam sabers used an I-field to contain Minovsky particles within the shape of a blade. Minovsky particles broke down matter at a molecular level, meaning that the beam saber could cut through almost any material.
Beam gatling gun
An optional equipment for the original Kshatriya meant for providing suppressive fire, the Kshatriya Repaired now mounted it within the right leg’s frame. The weapon was capable of unleashing a torrent of beam fire, though individual shots inflicted relatively light damage to the target. It had a scope for aiming and a handle that could flip out for use by the right hand.
This mounting arrangement was reminiscent of the Gump, a modified MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam that featured a machine gun used as a makeshift peg-leg.
Hyper beam javelin
Mounted in place of the left forearm, the hyper beam javelin was a melee weapon embedded with psychoframe material and had both javelin-shaped and axe-shaped beam emitters. This weapon was originally an optional handheld equipment for the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam and served as the prototype for the Armed Armour series of weaponry.
I-field generator
The remaining binder retained its I-field generator, mounted on the binder, providing the Kshatriya Repaired with defensive capabilities against beam weapons. However, the loss of the other three generators from the original design significantly reduced the mobile suit’s overall defensive coverage.
Altered funnels
Six altered funnels were stored within each remaining binder, for a total of twelve. Unlike the funnels used by the original Kshatriya, each altered funnel had a small sturm faust warhead attached to the tip instead of a beam gun and was used for direct attacks on the enemy, essentially making them psychocommu-guided missiles.
These altered funnels might have been inspired by the funnel missiles used by the RX-104FF Penelope and the RX-105 Ξ Gundam.

Behind the scenes
Katoki Hajime was the original mechanical designer. The Kshatriya Repaired showcased the practical challenges of mobile suit maintenance during extended campaigns and the ingenuity required to keep advanced weapons systems operational under adverse conditions.
