Murase Shūkō (村瀬修功, Murase Shūkō, born 10 June 1960) is a Japanese anime director and animator who directed Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway (2021), the first film in a theatrical trilogy adapting Tomino Yoshiyuki’s novel. His direction brought cinematic quality and mature, sophisticated storytelling to Hathaway’s morally complex narrative of terrorism, idealism, and Hathaway Noa’s descent into violence.
