Ide
The Ide is the infinite energy in Space Runaway Ideon that powers the Ideon. It responds to human emotions, especially the survival instincts of children, and is linked to Freud’s concept of the Id. It is revealed as the collective consciousness of an extinct civilisation—“thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of millions of consciousnesses”—and drives the series’ apocalyptic conclusion.
