HG Zaku (GQ)
High Grade 1/144 kit of the Zaku (GQ), released 8 November 2025 at ¥2,420.
HG Zaku (GQuuuuuuX Ver.) brings the mass-production Zaku as it appears in Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX — a familiar grunt suit refracted through the series’ alternate-timeline lens — to the 1/144 High Grade line.
Design and features
The loadout is classic Zeon workhorse. The Zaku Machine Gun covers rapid-fire duties; the Zaku Bazooka, a shoulder-braced recoilless rifle built for anti-ship work, handles long-range bombardment; and the fixed right-shoulder shield moves with the arm, so guarding means physically thrusting the shoulder forward — a nice bit of in-universe logic the kit’s articulation supports.
Modern HG engineering means the mono-eye, power cables, and two-tone green scheme come colour-separated out of the box, and the kit poses naturally with either primary weapon.
Who it’s for
Grunt-suit fans and diorama builders — Zakus work best in numbers — plus anyone collecting the GQuuuuuuX range beyond the lead suits.
