Getter Robo Go (1990–1993) marked a turning point in the Getter Robo franchise. Ken Ishikawa began exploring the darker implications of Getter Rays as entities with their own agenda, the terrifying power of the Shin Getter Robo, and the suggestion that humanity was being transformed by prolonged exposure. Go Ichimonji leads this iteration. The manga introduced concepts that would define the franchise’s later development.
