G-Bull Easy

The G-Bull Easy was a Core Block System support tank developed by the Earth Federation Forces. It was the standalone configuration of the G-Bull without the RX-78-2 Gundam torso section.

History

During the One Year War, the Earth Federation Forces developed the G-Parts system of interchangeable modules. This system allowed rapid reconfiguration to adapt to different combat conditions in the field.

The G-Parts featured an Easy Mode that enabled operation without the Gundam torso section. This allowed the support units to continue functioning even when separated from the Gundam during battle. The G-Bull Easy was the Easy Mode configuration of the G-Bull support tank.

Design

The G-Bull combined the RX-78-2 Gundam with modular Core Block System units known as G-Parts. These comprised two sections: the A-Parts (nose unit with cockpit, caterpillar treads, and beam cannons) and B-Parts (thruster-equipped fuselage).

Operating in Easy Mode without the Gundam torso, the G-Bull Easy required only a single pilot rather than the G-Bull’s two-person crew. This configuration placed additional demands on the pilot, who had to manage both movement and weapons systems alone.

Armaments

The G-Bull Easy’s standard weapons were beam cannons and missile launchers mounted on its A-Parts section.

Beam cannons

Two beam cannons were mounted on the upper section of the A-Parts behind the cockpit canopy. The G-Bull Easy’s beam cannons could sustain longer firing periods compared to the G-Fighter configuration due to the additional generator capacity.

Missile launchers

A two-tube missile launcher system was installed in the nose section of the A-Parts, providing additional ranged attack capabilities.

Shields

The G-Bull Easy carried two RX*M-Sh-008/S-01025 (Renpou eXperimental Medium Shield) shields mounted on either side. These shields effectively blocked most ballistic and explosive projectiles.

The shield design incorporated a triple honeycomb structure with high-density ceramic material sandwiched between aramid fibres, protected by an outer layer of Luna Titanium alloy alloy. A polymer resin coating enhanced the shield’s elasticity.

Behind the scenes

Okawara Kunio was the original mechanical designer.

The G-Bull Easy appeared only in the television series Mobile Suit Gundam. Tomino Yoshiyuki removed it from the compilation films, considering it too reminiscent of the super robot genre rather than the real robot approach he envisioned for the series.
