Eurasian Federation
European and Asian superstate and founding member of the Earth Alliance during the Cosmic Era.
The Eurasian Federation (ユーラシア連邦, Yūrashia Renpō) was a superstate and founding member of the Earth Alliance during the Cosmic Era. Formed from a fusion of the European Union (minus Ireland), members of the former Warsaw Pact, and post-Soviet states, its territory spanned the entirety of Europe and much of Asia.
Overview
The Eurasian Federation represented the second-largest power bloc within the Earth Alliance, rivaling the Atlantic Federation in military strength and political influence. Its vast territorial holdings gave it strategic depth and diverse resources, though it lacked the Atlantic Federation’s technological and industrial advantages.
History
First Alliance-PLANT War
As a founding member of the Earth Alliance, the Eurasian Federation contributed significant military forces during the First Alliance-PLANT War. However, during the ZAFT attack on JOSH-A, the Atlantic Federation deliberately sacrificed Eurasian forces, severely weakening the Federation’s military capacity and granting the Atlantic Federation near-total control of the Alliance.
Second Alliance-PLANT War
Following the fall of LOGOS, the Eurasian Federation began to develop closer ties with ZAFT, marking a significant shift in its political alignment. This partial alliance with ZAFT continued into the post-war period.
Relations
The Eurasian Federation and Atlantic Federation maintained a longstanding rivalry, with strong undercurrents of mistrust persisting even during their alliance against ZAFT. This rivalry shaped much of the internal politics of the Earth Alliance.
