About The King of Braves GaoGaiGar
The King of Braves GaoGaiGar stands as the culmination of the Brave Series, the 1997 television series that pushed super robot heroism to its limit and became the franchise’s most influential entry.
Produced by Sunrise and Takara, GaoGaiGar was explicitly conceived as the final Brave television series. Director Yoshitomo Yonetani and the staff treated it as their last chance to express the franchise’s core themes, resulting in 49 episodes of combining robots, G-Stone technology, and the motto: “If you have the courage, you can call in any miracle.”
The series follows Guy Shishioh, a cyborg pilot of the Gutsy Geoid Guard, and Mamoru Amami as they battle the Zonder using GaoGaiGar and allied machines. It was followed by the OVA GaoGaiGar Final and later the web novel GaoGaiGar vs. Betterman. GaoGaiGar has appeared extensively in Super Robot Wars and influenced Studio Trigger and works like Brave Bang Bravern!.
