G-Sky Easy
Support fighter developed by the Earth Federation Forces.
The G-Sky Easy was a support fighter developed by the Earth Federation Forces as a modular support unit for the RX-78-2 Gundam. It was an Easy Mode configuration of the G-Sky that combined the FF-X7 Core Fighter with the B-Parts without the Gundam torso.
History
The Earth Federation Forces developed the G-Parts system during the One Year War to provide modular support units for the RX-78-2 Gundam. The system allowed rapid reconfiguration in the field to adapt to different combat situations.
The G-Parts could operate in Easy Mode without the Gundam torso, allowing them to provide independent support. The G-Sky Easy configuration saw limited deployment, with a notable appearance during Operation Odessa when Hayato Kobayashi used it after his RX-75-4 Guntank was disabled.
Design
The G-Sky Easy combined the FF-X7 Core Fighter with the B-Parts fuselage module of the G-Fighter. The B-Parts consisted of a fuselage section equipped with four powerful thrusters.
Unlike the standard G-Sky configuration which incorporated the Gundam’s lower torso, the Easy Mode allowed direct docking between the Core Fighter and B-Parts. This simplified configuration enabled Core Fighters from other Project V units like the Guncannon and Guntank to utilise the G-Sky’s enhanced capabilities.
The fighter used an NC-3 type nuclear fusion reactor for power. The pilot controlled the unit from a canopy-style cockpit in the Core Fighter section.
Armaments
The G-Sky Easy retained the weapons of both the Core Fighter and B-Parts modules.
25 mm vulcan guns
Two pairs of 25 mm vulcan guns were mounted in the nose of the Core Fighter section. While these rapid-fire weapons had minimal effect against mobile suit armor, they were effective for intercepting missiles and attacking lightly armored targets.
Missile launchers
The fighter carried two missile launchers mounted on the main body, each containing four rounds. These provided significant anti-ship and anti-mobile suit capability. Additional missiles could be mounted on wing pylons for extended operations.
A retractable 4-tube missile launcher was also installed at the rear of the B-Parts section, below the main thrusters.

Behind the scenes
Okawara Kunio was the original mechanical designer.
The G-Sky Easy only appeared in the Mobile Suit Gundam TV series. Director Tomino Yoshiyuki removed it from the compilation movies as he felt it was too reminiscent of the super robot genre, conflicting with his vision of a more realistic portrayal of mecha warfare. It was replaced by the FF-X7Bst Core Booster.
