Anaheim Electronics, Inc was a private civilian conglomerate that engaged in military and industrial research, engineering, and manufacturing. The company was initially founded in Anaheim on Earth, but later moved its headquarters to the Moon in Anaheim city.

Anaheim worked with military factions in Earth Sphere regardless of which side they stood in the wars. The company prided itself on its capabilities to produce some of the most advanced mobile suits in the field, and its production facilities were among the most expansive and modern.

History

Founding

Little was known about the beginnings of Anaheim Electronics, despite the significant impact it had in the events that shaped the world. Founded in Anaheim, California on Earth, the company increasingly operated from its base on the Moon.

Prior to the One Year War, Anaheim had already developed into a conglomerate involved in all sorts of industries selling goods and services in both the Earth Sphere and the colonies. These included consumer electronics, software, automotive, cosmetics, travel services, credit cards services, media, publishing, telecommunications, spaceships, and construction services of buildings and even space colonies.

One Year War

When the One Year War broke out, the corporation started developing mobile suits. Although there were no proof to their involvement in the war, there were rumours of documents that suggested the Earth Federation’s chief engineer Tem Ray, who designed the RX-77-1A Guncannon A and RX-78-2 Gundam, an Anaheim Electronics employee.

In the aftermath of the war, Anaheim acquired the Principality of Zeon’s military corporations, Zimmad Company, Zeonic Company, and MIP Company as a result of punishments imposed on the defeated nation. The designers and engineers from these corporations joined Anaheim as a result and turned Anaheim into the largest corporation with mobile suit development and production capabilities in the Earth Sphere. As the leading mobile suit manufacturer, Anaheim was the Earth Federation’s natural choice to assist in the rebuilding of its armed forces.

The war exposed the Federation’s lack of technological advantage in space warfare, especially in the field of mobile suits. As part of the Earth Federation’s Reconstruction Plan, the Federation initiated the top secret Gundam Development Project on UC 0081 October 5. Supervised by Vice-Admiral John Kowen, Anaheim Electronics begun developing the next generation of mobile suits.

Delaz Conflict

Zeon Remnants group Delaz Fleet uncovered the Gundam Development Project in UC 0083 January and sent agents to infiltrate Anaheim Electronics On UC 0083 October 7, the Earth Federation’s prototype mobile suits RX-78GP02A Gundam “Physalis” and RX-78GP01 Gundam “Zephyranthes” arrived in the Federation’s Torrington Base in Australia. The Remnants agents stole the Physalis and fled to the Kimberlite Base in Africa where they received a HLV transport to launch into space.

The Delaz Fleet and another Zeon Remnants group Cima Fleet initiated Operation Stardust after declaring war against the Earth Federation, marking the start of the Delaz Conflict. The Delaz Fleet attacked the Federation’s naval review at the former Zeon asteroid base Konpei Island. The Physalis used a nuclear warhead that decimated two-thirds of the rebuilt Earth Federation fleet.

The Cima Fleet hijacked Side 1 colonies dropped the Island Ease colony on Earth. The colony drop crashed in the Federation’s North American Midwest, its key region of food production, and the impact causing substantial civilian devastation, and subsequently led to food shortages.

All the prototype mobile suits developed by the project were destroyed in the battle, except for the RX-78GP03S Gundam “Stamen”. The Federation wiped all information related to the Gundam Development Project and sealed away the outcomes of the project to cover up the cause of the conflict. This led to stagnation in mobile suit development.

Gryps War

Anaheim Electronics was drawn into the Gryps War by supporting the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) in UC 0086. During the war, Anaheim acquired enhanced Luna Titanium Alloy with the help of Quattro Bajeena, and Kamille Bidan helped them capture the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II. The new alloy and the Movable Frame from the Mk-II allowed Anaheim to develop the MSA-003 Nemo and improve on their ongoing Project Zeta that culminated in the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam.

While maintaining the appearance of a neutral organisation, Anaheim also supplied equipment to the AEUG’s enemy, the Titans. When the Titans grew suspicious, Anaheim appeased them by providing them with the RMS-108 Marasai that was designed for the AEUG.

After the Gryps War, Anaheim continued to shape world events in both the Pezun Rebellion and First Neo Zeon War through mobile suits subsequently produced using data from Project Zeta.

Second Neo Zeon War

At the end of the First Neo Zeon War, Anaheim Electronics had become the Earth Federation’s main mobile suit manufacturer. Its RGM-89 Jegan succeeded the long-serving GM line as the backbone of the Federation’s armed forces.

Unbeknown to the Federation, Anaheim also provided Char Aznable with equipment to aid his Newborn Neo Zeon movement. Char Aznable revealed himself and declared the founding of the second Neo Zeon on UC 0092 December 22. Seizing the Sweetwater colony without resistance from the residents who were mostly refugees from war-ravaged colonies.

Char declared war on the Earth Federation on UC 0093 February 27, marking the start of the Second Neo Zeon War. Neo Zeon capture the asteroid Fifth Luna and crashed it on the Federation headquarters in Lhasa, Tibet. To make up for his failure to stop the asteroid drop, Amuro Ray worked with Anaheim to develop the RX-93 ν Gundam that used the corporation’s latest technology, the psycoframe. It integrated the psycommu system into the metal frame of the mobile suit to enhance a Newtype pilot’s control of the machine.

Meanwhile, Anaheim developed for Char another psycoframe mobile suit, the MSN-04 Sazabi. These two state of the art mobile suits piloted by the top ace pilots of the era played vital roles throughout the war that culminated in a final showdown between the two. The duel ended with both pilots missing, and it also ended the war.

Third Neo Zeon War

After the Second Neo Zeon War, Anaheim Electronics partnered with the Earth Federation on a new mobile suit project, the UC Project. They developed the prototype mobile suits RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee, and RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex. The project also created the limited production RGM-96X Jesta as escorts for these Gundams.

The Earth Federation leadership initiated the UC Project not just to end eliminate Zeon influence, but also to wipe out Newtypes and the ideals they represented. The Vist Foundation intervened and fitted the Unicorn Gundam with the La+ System designed to locate the Laplace Box. The remaining Newborn Neo Zeon forces known as The Sleeves wanted the Laplace box because they believed its contents would topple the Earth Federation. Thus the Vist Foundation’s action led to the outbreak of the Third Neo Zeon War on UC 0086 April 7.

During the war, the Earth Federation’s Strategic Naval Research Institute (SNRI) made a breakthrough in developing a miniaturised thermonuclear reactor in UC 0102. When the technology matured in UC 105 November, the Federation requested Anaheim to produce miniaturised mobile suits. The corporation developed the RGM-109 Heavygun but its performance left SNRI unimpressed. The Federation allowed the latter to start developing its own mobile suits.

Anaheim’s decline

SNRI unveiled the F90 Gundam F90 in UC 0111 and defeated Anaheim’s MSA-120 prototype, proving that the Gundam F90 was the superior design. It became the backbone of the Earth Federation’s forces.

The success of the internal team led the Federation to place more emphasis on SNRI designs and projects, while relegating Anaheim to a manufacturing role to mass produce SNRI’s designs. Anaheim stole the blueprints of SNRI’s Formula series to bridge the technological gap, and used the data to develop the RXF-91 Silhouette Gundam. However, it failed to slow the rise of SNRI.

By UC 0153, Anaheim was aiding the League Militaire in their war against the Zanscare Empire with the LM312V04 Victory Gundam and others from the Victory series. However, the corporation had faded into the background by then and there were even some who dismissed Anaheim’s sponsorship of the League as mere rumours.

Operations

Anaheim Electronics, Inc operated from its headquarters in Anaheim city on the Moon. The corporation’s main mobile suit manufacturing facilities were located in two other lunar cities, Granada and Von Braun.

Amman city on the Moon was home to an Anaheim branch office. The city was destroyed by Titans pursuing AEUG forces.

Anaheim had a factory in the lunar industrial city of Epsilon that manufactured large-scale projects. Notable projects included AEUG’s Irish-class battleship Cookstown and the Titans prototype mobile suit MRX-011 Mass Production Type Psycho Gundam.

The corporation also had the large dock spaceship La Vie en Rose that served as a mobile repair facility and testing platform.
