History
The Principality of Zeon developed the Wappa for patrol and reconnaissance purposes.

Design
The hovercraft was lightweight due to its minimal armour. This gave it speed but at a cost. Its cockpit was not covered, leaving the pilot exposed. Since its main purpose was to scout enemy positions, speed was of utmost importance.

Armaments
The Wappa was armed with a machine gun for anti-personnel attacks.
Machine gun
A machine gun was suspended above the pilot. It was used mainly against enemy soldiers. The machine gun lacked the fire power to deal real damage to enemy vehicles, not to mention mobile suits.
