Side 3 Munzo was a space colony cluster located behind the moon at Lagrangian Point L2. It was home to the Principality of Zeon.

Description

Side 3 was a large colony cluster at Lagrangian Point L2. The cluster was the home of the Autonomous Republic of Zeon, Principality of Zeon, and the Republic of Zeon.

There were only closed-type colonies at Side 3. There were no open-type colonies in the cluster. Closed-type colonies did not have glass panels to simulate the skies and did not have any views of space. This allowed larger residential capcities instead of wasting space for aesthetics.

Zum City

The capital colony Zum City was named after the founding father of Zeon, Zeon Zum Deikun. It was the heart of Side 3 where many bureaucratic headquarters were located.

History

Side 3 was where Zeon Zum Deikun started spreading his philosophy of Contolism, the belief that the Earth was sacred and humans had the solemn right to protect it at all costs.

He later formed the Zeon Party that rose to power in Side 3’s government, the Autonomous Republic of Munzo, which later became the Autonomous Republic of Zeon. After Deikun’s death, his successor Degwin Zabi declared independence from the Earth Federation and the formation of the Principality of Zeon. An anti-Zabi revolt broke out in the Quintzem colony but was brutally put down by the authorities.

The capital colony of Side 3 was renamed Zum City in honour of Deikun after his death.

One Year War

During the One Year War, Colony 38 Mahal was evacuated in September UC 0079 and converted into the Solar Ray colony laser. Solar batteries were collected from other colonies and a projection array was built along the internal colony walls.

Gihren Zabi used the Solar Ray to prevent peace negotiations between his father Degwin Zabi and Federation’s General Revil, and it wiped out a third of the Federation forces during the Battle of A Baoa Qu.

After the war, Side 3 was under the leadership of Prime Minister Darcia Bakharov. Darcia negotiated with the Federation for a peace settlement that called for the surrender of the Principality and the continued indepedence of Sid 3 as the Republic of Zeon.

Additional colonies were added to Side 3 through the Colony Reclamation Project in UC 0082 and UC 0083 to ease the overcrowding situation in the cluster.

First Neo Zeon War

The Republic of Zeon gave the colony Core 3 to Neo Zeon under the instructions from the Federation. It served as the base of operations for Haman Karn during the civil war between Zeon forces under Haman and Glemy Toto.

Core 3 was destroyed when the asteroids Axis and Moussa crashed into the colony.

Side 3 rejoined the Federation in UC 0100. Zebra Zone was a desolate region in colony cluster where a non-militant group of Neo Zeon remnants were based.

CONSENT

In UC 0218, the Federation collapsed and Side 3 became a member of CONSENT.
